Industry audit In the industry sector audit three main areas should be addressed - process, product and management. They should not be regarded and approached as three entirely separate entities but as three focus areas which are inter linked and dependent on each other. Process: Develop a general understanding of the main process Identify environmental problems Investigate where and how environmental problems are created in the processes Assess the companies effectiveness in addressing cleaner production options Products: Develop a general understanding of the product concept. Identify environmental problems related to the product from a life-cycle perspective. Identify the expectations of internal and external stakeholders. Assess how the company manages to integrate environmental concern into the design process Discuss whether there are long-term future threats or opportunities Management: Develop a general understanding of the management organization In this component you should develop a general understanding of the corporate management. Assess the perception of environmental problems and drivers for change Assess the effectiveness in implementing, managing and sustaining CP. Service sector audit The service sector audit will focus on understanding how environmental issues and concern apply to a service organization. This audit will to some extent differ from the industry audit in the sense that it only focuses on two main components - service and management. Issues to be covered in the audit are: Service Understanding the service concept and process Identify environmental problems related to the service Investigate where and how environmental problems are generated Assess the organizations effectiveness in addressing CP Management Develop a general understanding of the management organization Assess the perception of environmental problems and drivers for change Assess the effectiveness in implementing, managing and sustaining CP
