Are you behind a firewall?
I have had very much problems using Kazaa lite when my firewall is active.
It was a couple of months since i used it but in the preferences there are a
setting from which you can change the connecion port.
Normally the port is set to 1214 but try to set it on for example 20 or 21
which is the prot for the ftp protocol.
Or you can try port 80 which is the prot fort the ittp protocol.
If this doesn't helps then i do not know.
For me it den not help.
