Hi Ron, The best thing to do by far is to download all of them, (they probably all have demo versions available), and play with each for a bit. If you do that, you can evaluate how easily you can do the things you want to do with each package. We can tell you in basic terms that a programme will do X or Y, but different packages do these things differently, and doubtless you'll find that you like the way one package does something more than another. I don't know about a sound forge demo, but certainly the goldwave demo is fully functioning, and if you do decide to go on and buy it, you don't have to reinstall it. I believe that there's a cool edit demo available too, though there is a pro and a standard version, so you might want to take a look on the relevant web-site and find out what the differences are.
Make a list of what you definitely want to do, and what you might want to do in the future, and go from there. I'll happily help you as much as I can, however I'm still learning, and therefore am possibly not the best person to help. HTH, Rob --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
