Hi.
It is imperative to have a .rockbox directory on your archos drive. It is
not, however, necessary to make such a directory with mkdir, as unzipping
the rockbox archive to your archos will put the needed .rockbox directory on
the drive. Note that if you don't want to, or can't, unzip the rockbox
archive to the archos, you must create the directory with mkdir or md from a
command prompt, as Windows Explorer will not allow the making of directories
whose names are preceded by a period.

mkdir Drive letter:\.rockbox from a dos prompt, or from windows create a new
folder, .rockbox to put the firmware into before putting the proper files
onto the root directory of the archos hard drive?
