Hi Hank. I actually swapped my Sony MD for the Denon DMD 1000 Minidisk Recorder / Player on the Recycle it list last year. The machine is very good and easy to use. I use it to copy music from MD disks into my computer. I've not yet attempted copying from my computer, but I'm sure this would be easy stuff. The details I have on the machine are as follows:-
Some specs on the Denon: Two optical in terminals (which is great for recording, you don't need to adjust recording levels), one optical out. One coaxial digital in and one pair of analog in and out's. Denon's Advanced Super Linear Converter, a high accuracy D/A conversion system for maximum low Resolution and the widest dynamic range. ASLC provides superb transparency and precise delineation of low level musical information. The DMD-1000 uses a 64-times over sampling, enhanced Dual-bit Delta Sigma 20-bit A/D converter that improves dynamic range compared to the conventional 16 bit A/D converters used in other digital recorders for maximum signal to noise ratio immediately.Another nice feature is the pitch control and fantastic editing capabilities for you musicians out there. Best wishes. Andy from sunny Kilcreggan ----- Original Message ----- From: "hank smith" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list.
