effects in sound forge

My Sony computer came with a copy of sound forge already installed.  I 
really like it.  I have one question about the effects such as reverb and 
flange.  When I use them in a stereo file the effect I'm using seems to 
only go to the center channel instead of the left and right.  When you hear 
pre recorded music with reverb it usually is placed in the left and right 
channel not the center.  How can I make the effects go to the left and 
right channel if I want them to?
