Hi Kris. The tools I use are CDEX for ripping CD's to my hard drive, Winamp for listening to MP3 & internet radio and Nero for burning CD's.
These should be sufficient for what you're looking to do and both CDEX and Winamp are free. Winamp is one of those programs where there's a number of keystrokes to learn but then it really is quite easy to use. Shame they never followed Windows standards to remove the burden of learning and memorising keystrokes but... You can download most programs from www.jfwlite.com where you'll also find pages of helpful hints to get you started. There are a number of editing programs available with varying functionality and varying price. My editing requirements are pretty minimal and I manage to do most of what I do with MP3TRIM and MP3GAIN. However, if you want to do more sophisticated editing you'll want to consider either Goldwave or SoundForge. Regards.
