why not just download winamp and let it play your mp3, wav, and many other (selectable by you) kinds of sound files?

doc;
I'm running windows 98 and can't figure out how to reassign the program to
run an mp3 file. I know I've seen a dialog box to select a program to
execute file types when I have clicked on a file that did not what program
to run to open it. So, it's here some where, I just can't seem to find it.
