Thanks, Kevin. Five to one isn't really that bad, is it? <smile>.

Subject: Putting MP3's on a DVD disc

You will need a DVD rewriter to make such a compilation on a DVD disc. It won't play in a standard CD player and may not play in a standard DVD player if you've created a compilation of WAV files in that way. It would of course play in a computer that has a DVD ROM or rewriter.

Although a DVD is physically identical to a CD, it is very different in it's
make up. It is both burned and read with a different laser to that used for
your everyday CD player. The laser needs to be of a wavelength such that it
can extract the data that's packed into that disc. A standard CD can hold
700 meg whereas a DVD can hold 4.3 gig which equates to 4,300 meg.

Hi, everybody.

I like making compilation CD's of songs from various artists and average
about 16 to 17 songs per Audio CD. I also prefer dot wav files, as they
don't sound "canned" like MP3 files. Could I put a big pile of songs onto
a
DVD? Do I require any special hardware or software? Will the finished
product play in a home stereo CD player?

Best,
Lou Novath
