I realize perhaps not everybody got a raw deal like I did. It just happened to me and I deeply regret the money wasted. Sure wish people would believe me when I tell them the equipment is not put together right. Hey, I'm not making this up. The record tray in the Aiwa stand-alone machine I have is indeed in the wrong side, and the tray without the holes that the burner must burn the disc through is in the player, lefthand side of the unit. I simply do not know how to put the tray in the right place without breaking something else on it, and I'm not going to pay the ridiculous charges those repair places charge. I just don't know anybody who could straighten it out so now I've had the burner in the computer for two years, I'm not worried about it anymore. I do everything I wanted to do on the stand-alone on the computer instead.
