Danielle,
If you go to the control panel, and multi media, do you have your soundcard
set as the preferred device?
And there is a chebox for use only preferred device.
This applies to recording as well as playback.

Richard, I go in to the volume control and go to optimise for playback. I
change the mixer but it will not save the setting when I close volume
control.----- Original Message -----

Danielle,
How are you trying to change mixers, when total recorder is closed?

No, neither of them load at start up... I also have another problem with
total recorder, in the form of, when I am not running the program, I can not
change the mixer from the one installed by total recorder, to my supposed
default one. Any ideas anyone?

Thanks,

Danielle

Hi Danielle,
Try leaving it set that way, and try using Skype.
You may have to close one program to use the other
It seems like there may be a setting that we are overlooking somewhere,
or the 2 programs may not be compatible.
It's hard to say, without being able to duplicate the same setup here.
I use total recorder, but not Skype.
Do you have both, or either program loading at startup?

Hi,

What I meant was, when I changed to sounds board, it was only recording from
the mic and line in, but it was not recording the stream from the radio
station.

Thanks,

Danielle

What exactly do you mean by direct streams? I'm wondering if perhaps you
are under a misconception about what Total Recorder does. If you're
looking for a program to record, say, an MP3 stream off the Net and save
it as an exact duplicate of what was downloaded in MP3 with no quality
loss, Total Recorder will not do this for you.
