This is not possible by default, at least not with the player (don't know about the remote). To be able to skip from folder to folder, you have to set fast skip to "folder", which is done via the menu system. I do not know, where this option can be found in the menu (perhaps under general settings), but there are three fast skip modes: Off (default, as much as I know), plus minus ten tracks, and folder. To actually fast skip, one first presses the five way button on the top of the unit to the left or right briefly and after that presses and holds it to the left or right. I do that very often, and find it extremely useful! BTW: The Rockbox people, who made the old Archos players talk, turned away from Archos. They are now trying to develop an alternative firmware for the iRiver players.
