Yes, and no. You can do it if the source signal was encoded with the characteristics that make up a 5.1 signal on a left-plus-right physical layer, otherwise there's nothing for the decoder to do. Also, the connection between your Platinum and your 5.1 card has to be very clean. If you're using the Platinum ZS 2 with the external hub, there really aren't any jacks but one or two on the back of the card--one for in, one for out. The rest of the limited space back there is taken up with a Firewire connector and the connector to the external controller box, where all the good jacks are. The front has quarter-inch microphones times 4, and stereo earphones. The back has MIDI out, through, and in, and a pair of RCA jacks suitable for use as line-outs. About colors, I cannot say.
