Subject: Can't play midi files, trouble shooting help requested

Hello,

The subject line states the problem. On my desktop running XP home with 512 megs of ram, I am unable to play midi files. Although I prefer to play them with Winamp, Windows media player 10 is launched when clicking on midi files, but nothing plays. I have also tried bringing up Winamp and then loading the files, but they still do not play although the midis do appear to load. I get the same result with media player classic.

These same midis play just fine in Winamp on my desktop running 98 S E. So I ask that knowledgeable persons on this list suggest some trouble shooting steps as I really want midis to play on the XP machine. Although I would prefer to play them with Winamp, I don't care that much which player plays them, just as long as they play.

Thanks.

Don Roberts
