Hi, This sort of compression doesn't harm any kind of file because, upon receiving, you use the same algorithm but in the opposite direction so as to "decompress" it. Thus, you end up with a file that is absolutely identical to the original which is to say, it _is the original, whereas, with the sort of compression used on sound files to permanently make them require less space, you end up with an entirely different kind of file.
