Yes, they exist. Try the Archos Studio 20 Recorder. Its very accessible, you 
can also download an alternative firmwear called Rockbox, Rockbox has the 
recorder speak the menus, files and folders, etc. The players work as well, 
go to www.rockbox.org to find a list of the players that work w/ Rockbox. I 
have the studio 20 and I like it. The IRIVER h140 is another good player 
that is accessible and they're working on Rockbox for the player. If you 
want a player under a hundred bucks, I hear the Muvo is a good player and it 
plays books from Audible. There is a review on the player in the Janurary 
issue of Access World.
