Let me try to clarify. If I understand MP3 players, there are two basic types of storage: one uses flash memory with no moving parts; the other uses a hard drive which spins just like a computer hard drive and holds greater amounts of storage. I thought the Archos players were of the second type. They may well have flash memory for holding the operating system but audio file storage is on the spinning drive. I am interested in the first type with storage in flash memory. Does this type of player still utilize the Rock Box software?
And, I would still like any and all recommendations on what flash based players are more accessible. Thanks.
Jeff

Thanks, yes, I am aware of RockBox but isn't that solely for hard drive based players? I'm specifically intersted in lower-priced flash players. Any further recommendations from anyone? Jeff
