There most certainly is a difference in rewriteable cd's. just like with the
cdr's, there are music and data discs respectively. use those discs you bought
on your computer for mp3 files and other stuff. you could burn a music cd on
the computer too with roxio or Nero.
data discs won't burn in a consumer stand alone cd recorder.

A couple of weeks ago, I bought some rewriteable CDs to use to record my
piano lessons. The first time I took one, it didn't seem to work. My
teacher thought maybe he was doing something wrong with his equipment, which
was new and he doesn't know all about it. But, this week, I took the whole
case to see if maybe it was a bad CD. He looked at the little paper insert
and said they appear to be data CDs.

Is there a difference between rewriteable CDs for music and for Data? When
I put one of these in my computer, it doesn't seem to recognize it, at all.
I can't read the label very well with my Optacon, but I know they're
Phillips CDs.

Any help will be appreciated.

Cindy
