First of all, you're not recording from an ASX file. You'd be recording
from whatever file the ASX file references.

A note to anyone who tries this: When I first gave the command to download,
Windows and IE prevented it, bragging that they were protecting my system
from aliens. Following the instructions to do the easiest to figure out
thing, I arrowed onto the Easynews link, hit enter, and the file began to
download. Just a tip in case it happens to anyone else.

Hi Chris. I did download that Bata version of iPodder, but I downloaded it
from jeffbishop.net. Marlaina's show last night did clear up a lot of the
questions about the program.

hi. toonhead-online.com is my website.
heheheh, and everyone spells my last name wrong, lol. it's actually

anyways about iPodder. sometimes rebooting your computer may solve the
problem because it might free up some files being used at the time. You
may also have to go into the windows registry and clear out any traces of
iPodder there. This is why Byron recommended a system restore. it'll take
your machine back to a time when the first iPodder you were running was ok
so you could continue using it. There's actually a public beta version
out that solves some accessibility issues. so try downloading that one and
see if it works. go to beta news.com and do a search for iPodder 2.1 beta
1. it's a beta but it's solid here. I love not having to do all kinds of
tricks to click on different things, so it's nice.

Hello,
as I have said already, I did uninstal. I have neither version of the
program on my computer now. I have only both their installation .exec
files, neither of which will run without an error message I described in
detail in the message to which I believe you're responding.
As for re-downloading version 2.0 (as opposed to the 2.0.3 update), this
is
not available any longer from the Ipodder.org site and its download area
called EasyNews. Only the update can now be obtained there.
Is there a place called tunehead where the previous version is still
available? I didn't know tunehead was a Web site. I thought it was
Chris's
handle or nickname. Thanks for your suggestion. again, I explained what
I
have done in my original message, which I reposted last evening. Is it
unclear?
Thanks very much.

You might need to go where you installed iPodder 2.0, and uninstall it.
Then go to the Tunehead online where the link to download it resides, then
download it again. I hope this helps. Maybe Chris Garsted can help you
get
back on track using iPodder again. This is just a suggestion, but this is
the only thing I can add, at this point. If this doesn't help, I hope you
find further help.

A system restore? You mean the method for undoing changes you've made
in
Windows? I don't understand how this would help. Nothing disappeared.
I
uninstalled a program. This wasn't an accident. It was intentional.
And
now I'm having problems installing it once again. I wouldn't want to
referse the uninstall, because that wouldn't help me learn what the
problem
is about. And that's what I want to fix. Thanks.

I would try a system restore, maybe that would make it re-appear, like
say
a
day or week back.
