Hi there,
Well, as far as your talking book player from NlS and your handi cassette recorder, you could plug the patch cord into the earphone jack. As far as your stereo, you can either plug it in the earphone jack or if you have them, the line out jack on the back of the unit.
Note about using your stereo:
Unless you use a program like GoldWave or Total Recorder, you will not be able to use your stereo because your stereo will play the tapes twice as fast as they were recorded. Plus, your stereo will play two sides (tracks) at a time.
Hope this helps,
Chris Chaffin

If I were to use my library of congress player, my handy cassette player, or my stereo to do this, where would the Jack go on each machine? Thanks!
Allison

Hi there,
You can use CDex to record your talking books. I personally prefer to use a program like total recorder or goldwave. With these programs you can actually do the recording faster, plus you can edit the recorded file if needed. But of coarse total recorder and goldwave are not freeware. With CDex, you first must connect a player that can play the tapes up to the line in jack on the back of your computer.
For full instructions you can go to my CDex page of my web site:

Hope this helps,
