Oh, I got the latency idea from a book on podcasting I bought in adobe form on amazon that over awhile it can build to several seconds. He spoke of that as far as Mac's go to use a firewire one instead to eliminate this, and it could be USB 1 compared to firewire. The other option, if it existed, is to share the old machine's sound card over the network, but I have yet to see sound card sharing as an option to add another recording channel.
