Podcasting is a term that's used nowadays for downloading audio
programs off the internet and then transfering them to your iPod or other
mp3 player. they're just regular ole mp3 files, nothing special about
them. The program that's being mentioned is one that will automatically
download a new show for you when it's released. You can subscribe to a
podcast just as you would a magazine subscription. When a new show is
available, this program, or my personal all time favorite, iPodder will go
out and download it for you automatically. No special scripts or other
software is needed.
That's the shortest and hopefully best description of Podcasting I can give.
I'm not sure why they call it a podcatcher, all it really does is
downloadd programs.
