My friend received an audio email from someone in Italy. The audio file is
in .wav format, and it plays as expected if it is opened from within Winamp
or WMP. But, if the .wav file itself is clicked on, Winamp gives an error
message about a missing codec.

I doubt the codec to play .wav files is actually missing, since both my
friend and I can play other .wav files without any problem, we both get this
same error message with this same file from Italy, but we are both able to
play the file from within either Winamp or WMP. so, what could be going
wrong here?

My friend expects to get other audio email from the same person in Italy,
and she would like to correct the problem, if at all possible, without too
much trouble.

Thanks.

Blessed Be,
