Hi. Unfortunately, with 5.3, the buttons in Total Recorder aren't as useful as they were before. Fortunately, all those button functions have keyboard equivalents. So, to record, hit Ctrl-R. You can find lists of the keyboard shortcuts in the manual and in help and you can modify them at least in the Pro version in the options dialog.
