Subject: repairing a distorted mp3 file

hi all, i've got an mp3 file of part of the ashes cricket from last summer.
unfortunately, i had the volume on my line-in too high or something because
the recordings a bit distorted. is there a way of repairing this? i've got
goldwave and soundforge on this system. or do i need another program? any
  help appreciated!
