I was thinking of scrapping my Turtle Beach Montego DDL sound card I just got because the recording from stereo mix sounds awful and flat, like an old FM station I can receive that first went on in 51. I am recording at 44.1 16-bit stereo in every program and every demo I tried. I did leave the other sound card, a SoundMax chip on the motherboard enabled, and it is actually called Digital MB in my settings. The delay is incredibly long if I tell jaws to use the internal instead, and it effects everything. The processor I have is a Pentium 4 3 GHZ with hyperthreading so I shouldn't be taxing the CPU too hard running this way to add the 3-4 seconds of delay between when I hit a key or start a song and when I first start to hear it. If I got a more professional card like the M-Audio Delta 1010 (and I think I should have as they bid fairly competetive on Ebay) would that fix my bad quality problem when recording the what you hear mix? It seems from the description that it could do anything anyone would want, like having a 10-channel board in your computer to route anything wherever you want it. Would it be possible to route things such that I can obtain a master feed minus jaws to send to an external digital recorder or maybe my old computer and send one with jaws included in it to the speakers or headphones with this or other cards out there with multiple inputs and outputs? Is the software to make this type of thing happen accessible with speech? Could I disable the onboard, put in a second Turtle Beach and configure jfw.ini to use that and eliminate the delay and recording quality problems? Thanks.
