Yes, it does. Kiran was quite right when he said
it will read the menus and if I am not mistaken, they are
all recorded audio files and No TTS will be loaded on to the device.
Rockbox does three things in speech. It reads menus, it spells or speaks
file names, and it spells and speaks folder names. Therefore, it reads the
contents of the screen in certain circumstances. However, it is not a screen
reader in the conventional sense, and it uses recorded voice files,
generally included in the firmware, to speak the display.
