First of all, JAWS has nothing to do with it. This is not a screen reader issue. Second, while I'm not saying the person who has been having these volume issues with Real Player is wrong, I will say that I've never experienced a problem remotely like that, and I've been using Real Player for about four years now in Windows. Of all of my players, Real Player has been the least buggy, has messed up my file associations the least, and has been the most stable. Close behind, Windows Mediocre Player, and a distant third, my favorite player, Winamp.

Real just takes over the system too much, it will yank the volume of speech
way down, and wants to play everything and start up with the system.

I haven't tried changing the output yet so I cannot comment on your post.

Allot of people are convinced (rightly or
wrongly), that Real Player is full of spy ware so
perhaps Real Alternative isn't.

I tried RealAlternative, mainly because, Unlike RealPlayer, it is
*supposed*
to be possible to configure it to use a secondary output device. Well, the
control is, indeed, there, but I could never get it to work! Even when I
set
it to use my secondary sound card, it continued to use only my default
card.
So, what the point in having an alternative to RealPlayer, if the
alternative is just as limited as the original?

Hi guys,
I hardly use Real Player and I mostly use winamp or windows media if
I
have to. I made it a point to get rid of real player as soon as
possible.
I found a nice alternative in a program called real alternative. When
you
lode it the player comes up as "media player classic" but it will play
all
the real streams. Go here for the program:
http://www.whitestick.co.uk/progs/realalternative145.exe
go here for more information about the program:
http://home.hccnet.nl/h.edskes/finalbuilds.htm
hope that helps
Denny
