Hi T. J.! No, I think I meant that with that CD, I could get the directionality, and know where the instruments were by listening to it with my surround sound. What I'm saying is, that if you just listen to classical music in stereo, you really don't get the directionality that you get when you listen to a symphony with surround. That could be said for big band music and jazz! And also, for example, listening to Billie Joel's We Didn't Start the Fire with surround, you get a great feeling with the rear speakers with the effects they used. Maybe it was before a live audience, but it still sounded good. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. the problem is, the cd itself was not mixed in surround. you aren't in fact getting the dirrection simply because they were not recorded in that manner. tj ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gary Wood" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. I write to say that my thoughts on this subject aren't meant to suggest that I don't value other opinions on this subject. I don't know if mine are right on this; but I have a classical CD that I got when I listened to the Bose radio, and it's supposed to give the true nature of the sound; but I've listened to this CD with surround sound, and it sounds great! I'm wondering though, how can you fully appreciate a symphony or jazz performance in stereo, when you can more fully determine the direction of where the instruments are in the performance? I guess I can appreciate this, because I was in my high school band and chorus! This is just my personal opinion, but I feel that I can really appreciate that fact! Cheers. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gary Wood" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. But I think that listening to music is a subjective thing, and maybe in my humble opinion, a good listening experience may be different with different people. Again, just my two cents worth, or maybe a little more than you may want! Loll. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dana S. Leslie" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. And, it is the latter sort of "feel" that we strive to reproduce in our home listening environments. Blessed Be, Dana that's Dayna, D A N A, NOT Donna, D O N N A D. S. Leslie, née C. R.
