hi. Ok, here's a breakdown of the 2 services, at least from my perception,
I'm quite sure people will have different opinions or add things I forget
here.

The 2 services are about equal with respect to the number of channels you
can receive, they're not exactly equal in number but it's vvery close.
It all depends on what kind of programming you want to receive.
XM has a deeper selection of music in their library, so if you like those
rare tracks a lot of radio stations doesn't play, then you'll like
xm. However, if you like the more popular songs, plus channels devoted to
specific artists and other theme channels, you might like Sirius. Like
major league baseball and NHL hockey? XM has both. Both xm and Sirius are
about the same when it comes to talk and entertainment programming. XM has
Opie and Anthony, while Howard Stern begins his uncensored show on January
9th on Sirius.
The very best thing you can do is check out
http://www.sirius.com
and http://www.xmradio.com and look at the different channel lineups and
features. That should give you a pretty good idea of what you can expect.
