If you don't have access to the original sources from which the mp3s were made (CDs, etc.), DON'T BOTHER CONVETING THEM! As I explained below, you'll just be converting from one (not very y good) lossy format to another (if better) lossy format. But, you won't get any any of the original loss back, and you may add more losses.
