There were some focus issues on Winamp's part with the playlist editor through part of the 5.0x series. I don't remember exactly where they started or at what point they were fixed, but it seems to me like everything was back to normal with it by maybe v5.11 or 5.111, something like that, at least with Jaws. Window-Eyes still has some weird issues with the playlist editor even now, but it's nothing that can't be overcome.
