Steve, With both my Audigy and Audigy 2, the option to turn on digital output is indeed present in the standard volume app. As I recall, there is an advanced button that will give you the dialog box you are looking for. I don't have either of those cards installed now, so can't check first hand. I'm going strictly my memory.
