Hi,

I use Roxio 6 and to burn a data dvd is the exact same
process as it is to burn a data cd.

I envoke the program and end up in a menu. There are
choices like copy a cd, and several dvd specific choices, but I
choose the classic option. The program recognizes that a dvd is in
the drive and announces the amount of space available accordingly.
