well one observation, , that's not true about the sports. XM has deals with
individual conferences, while Sirius has deals with individual teams. As far
as music, that is subjective, it depends on what you like. Sirius does not
have anything like Soul Street, and their old time radio is very chopped up
and subjective. Sirius does have a much better mainstream jazz channel. To
say it "isn't good for anyone" is a stretch. Something is always good for
somebody. I think both services have their good and bad points, it's all in
what you want. Of course, there is a need for a reliable on the go unit from
both companies. That's where regular radio has it over both companies, but
with the XM portable devices they I think are closing the gap. As far as
accessibility, that's a whole oter issue.

It can't responsibility be argued that XM has better signal coverage because
they have more repeaters installed, although Sirius is planning on changing
that next year. Sirius may have more talk but it's all in what you want. I
can ship you 20 pounds of bananas but if you don't like them, well--you get
my drift. Over all if I had to pick one with my tasts--and I emphasize with
my tastes--I'd go with XM but, that is subjective, what oppion isn't.
Objectively speaking, they are both good. Biggest differences are channel
selection and equipment. It's all in what you want. I will say one thing
though. XM better be careful about sounding more like Clear Channel or they
just might start losing people. What hasn't been mentioned by many people is
the fact that many subscribers to both companies become so because their new
car offers a one year free deal with the car. It will be interesting to see
how many people actually renew their subscription.

Just some thoughts,

Chuck
