Again, the trick to stopping a recording is to hit the context menu key and then hit the appropriate letter. I can't remember offhand if the letter to hit is s or p, but you don't want to hit enter as if you were in a fully accessible program! Once you do it this way, you will get the dialog asking if you want to save the recording.
