Believe me when I got into the business I certainly paid my dues. In commercial radio I hosted the all night show for about six years, and when I made the switch from commercial radio to public broadcasting it wasn't much better. It has always been managements thinking, out of sight out of mind. Even though I had the sonority I was given the undesirable shifts weekends, evenings, 5 am early mornings. When I complained I was told that I should be thankful that I had a job. Unfortunately this is the way society thinks. Even when it came to holiday time the so called able people were given priority, as they had a life and disabled people did not.
