Hi. I quite like the Sam Encoders actually, for many reasons. Firstly the number of encoders to choose from. While the Ogg support isn't the best initially, i've been able to get more updated ogg.dll files which improve it vastly! I like having choices you know. I like a plugin that lets you do standard mp3, windows media, and ogg. Secondly, the list view interface of the plugin is easier and a little more intuitive for me personally. I like being able to arrow down in the list, hit a hotkey and automatically connect to a server, rather than having to tab all over a window and hitting a connect button. Now, the one advantage that the Oddcast plugin has over Sam is its ability to sstream in AAC Plus. The Spacial Audio folks claim that a future version of the Sam Encoders will have AAC Plus support, but i haven't heard any news of it yet. I'll keep my ears out though. There is certainly nothing wrong with Oddcast though. I certainly like it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a broadcast plugin. It's a bit confusing if you don't know what you're doing, but isn't that the same for a lot of these plugins? You have to do a bit of experimentation before you get the hang of it.
