Are you trying to edit the file in windows explorer?  If so then you don't 
want to go into properties of the file.  Just highlight the filename and 
press f2 to edit.

That is the other problem.
If I go into file "A", into properties, Jaws will not let me do any editing,
and "Yes" the read only is not checked.
This is when a sort-of normal person gets frustrated.
Will keep on trying.
