As of yesterday, I now have one of these that will not be properly recognized by the Windows98 box that it ran in, nor in another more advanced machine that is configured to use a similar card. The 'add new hardware' program finds the card, but describes it as a "pci multimedia audio device" and gives me the usual options for installing the drivers, yet it cannot find the drivers anywhere, even if I point the thing to the precise directory on the supplied cd rom. I noticed there is just one small removable chip on the board. Could this be a rom chip that contains the device id information and that decided to drop dead? I'd appreciate knowing about any experiences that list members have had with the manufacturer. It's a great product, but how's the support?
