Sarah, If your $39 battery pack can be charged from the USB port, do let me know as the support person from SP told me that was not the case. He said it required a universal charger typically used for Camcorders and other devices. He said it was the $49 Lithium model that could be charged from the usb port. If he was wrong, I would really like to know. For your sake, I hope he was wrong so you don't have to exchange it. I haven't ordered mine yet.

There are 2 of them. I spoke to tech support at sound Professionals and here is what I learned. There is one battery pack that sells for $39.99 that claims 16 hrs of additional battery life. The only way of charging this particular model is with a universal camcorder battery charger. On the page for this pack there is a combo box for adding the charger to your cart if you don't currently have one. The big problem is that the charger is $69 and no, that was not a typo. There is another battery pack available that is a Lithium battery and gives you an additional 12 hours of juice. This one sells for $49.99 and can be charged right from a computer's usb port or an ac adapter that you can purchase that has a usb port on it already. This battery pack is by far the best choice in my mind as I don't have a universal camcorder battery charger nor do I want to spend $69 on one either just to charge a $39.99 battery pack.
