Try some of these things.
Do you have the recording level turned up? do you have record preamp set to
low or high? try actuating all of the switches on the bottom of the unit in
case one is stuck in the middle position. Remove your sd card and format it
on the pc. if it is not formated corectly the unit will not go in to record
mode. check to see if the unit will play by putting an mp3 on the card.
check to see if record monitor is turned off. it is on by default but you
may have changed it. Hope some of these suggestions help.

Hello. I managed to get my SD card in to my edirol r9 and plug in and go but
theere is one problem. I can't use my edternal sound proffessional mics at
all. I get an anoying buz and since I can't use bateries as none of them are
the 2 edirol has in the menu that won't do. Anyways I plugged my sound core
mics in to the mic jack and I hdeard the pop but then I heard a lot of hiss
and no sound of me at all. Does anyone have any suggestions? I"m getting the
hang of the thing except for this one snag. Thanks.
