Well, the question is asked, if it ain't broke, why bother fixing it? 
It's always been my thinking that if a program does not require 
scripts to use it, then you are not required to use the scripts 
simply because they exist. If you aren't having any trouble, then 
don't worry.  In fact there's ben a few times I've used scripts with 
a program that was pretty usable out of the box and the accessibility 
of the program went right down the crapper because the developer 
either didn't do a good job writing the scripts, or they only wrote 
it for their system in mind, and we all know what happens when you 
write something for your own system in mind, it doesn't work very 
well on other people's systems, at least most of the time that I've 
seen. Either way, the long and the short of it is if you aren't 
having any trouble, don't use the scripts.
