Hi,
To fix the delay after the event, you can time-shift
tracks with respect to each other. This is described
in the Jaws guide for audacity 1.3.2 referred to in a
previous post. In the advanced editing section there's
a section on aligning tracks. When you're doing this
you'll probably need to set the format of selection
start to hh:mm:ss + milliseconds, so you can get the
correction accurate enough (see the section on the
Selection bar for details).
For future recordings, in Preferences, in the Audio
I/O category, you can set a latency correction in
milliseconds: The recorded track will be delayed by
that amount (which can be negative).

Now, I have another
problem. I am trying to record a couple of my friends
singing a song
with a karaoke track. It seems that when Audacity lays
down the
vocals, there is a delay that results in the vocals
being one beat
off. Is there any way I can fix that? I sure hope it
isn't my mixer
and sound card.
