Hi Everyone! Thanks to those on this list who recommended the tutorial on Audasity with JAWS, even though I don't use JAWS all that much, (I prefer the more powerful Mac and using Window-Eyes under such with the help of Fusion), it has helped me quite a bit with the command structure and I'd like to make the following observations. Like the writers of the tutorial say, Audasity has both come a long way in terms of accessability but still needs to come a long way further, will it? ONly time will tell I guess but if people keep contributing to the project as they have been doing up till now then I'm happy to say that Audasity seems to have a very bright future indeed. The current Beta version is 1.33 (both for PC and Mac) and several features shine here, including 2 definable cue/review periods for want of a better description. For example, pressing play plys a selection in your file, press the right cursor key to scroll through the file or shift-right cursor key for a speedy scroll, audio is not muted. Are their problems? Heaps particularly with the Mac version I've found so far, its extremely unstable but again we're talking of Beta products so instability is not unexpected and will I'm sure be fixed before the final release and finally on this point, for those who believe that I could never see wrong with an Apple Mac or the applications it runs? Well I've shown you up now have I not? <smile>. I encourage you to try Audasity, I'm going against my grain here because I usually advise people to try stable releases of software but the Beta 1.33 is definately worth a spin and read the tutorial which is extremely well written, you'll find the url to this in the PC-Audio archives but I'll publish it again (or someone may beat me to it) if people are interested. Audasity is a multi track recorder and editor, if it keeps going the way it has gone thus far then it should prove a very nice choice for those who deal with audio.
