it shouldn't be too hard to modify a vs1 or vs2 board or whatever the 
icom equivalent is. however, having said that, those boards I suspect 
have a preset number of characters and words and numbers in their 
lexicon. it may even be simpler than that. however, that doesn't mean 
something can't be gerry rigged.
