I was going to mention rockbox too, I think any of the 200 series 
Sandisks will work with Rockbox except for the Audible logoed ones. You 
can get more information from rockbox.org. Note that I'm not sure if a 
blind person can use the Sandisk MP3 players unless they're using 
Rockbox on it.

If you're just looking for an easy to use and accessible MP3 player, I 
don't think a blind person can do better than the Zen Stone from 
Creative. It has no display and you can use Windows Explorer to move 
files to it, so accessibility isn't an issue at all. You'd want the 1GB 
version, so that may not be big enough for you. If I remember right, it 
was also one of the cheaper options when I got it.
