are there any advantages to 9 over 8, 7, or 6? I just want to rip vinyl and do
some basic editing and noise reduction to the waves.

I don't know what version of Sound Forge works better with JAWS 8 or 9
but the Snowman has scripts for both. Anyone purchasing a new copy of Sound
Forge can only purchase version 9 unless they can find an old copy of
version 8 somewhere.
