From: Barry Jennings [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To all Supporting members and guests: A new beta version of the VIP Communicator will be available shortly. This is a totally rewritten client based on the TeamTalk SDK. If you should decide to try the new beta please be aware of the following: 1. You will find a link to the beta rooms page at the top of the locator frame. The beta rooms page is very similar to the regular page. However the client download link on the beta rooms page points to the beta download area. 2. Please note that you must have version 1.1 of the VIP Communicator installed before the beta will work. That will of course change when the beta client becomes our regular client. If you are not sure which of the old versions you are using just go to the help/about menu option in the old client. If you are told you have version 1.10 you are ok to proceed with the beta install. 3. We ask that you please don't write to the help desk or myself with any problems using the new client. There will be a Communicator 2 Beta forum for that purpose. On that forum you will be notified about any important updates. We recommend that you set your EMail option for that forum to "Mail All Traffic". 4. The MP3 rooms are not yet available on the beta client. 5. For Jaws users the related Jaws files will be installed automatically in every version of Jaws you have installed from version 6.0 and above. 6. Jaws users please note that their is a minor problem with Jaws when you use the embedded browser. If you spend any time in the embedded browser and then leave the room you will get an error if the virtual cursor in the embedded browser is not turned off. This appears to be a problem in Jaws 7.1 and above. Sorry there's not much I can do about this. The virtual cursor in the embedded browser is turned off by default when the embedded browser gets focus so most times you should not have an issue with this. 7. If you are a WindowEyes user and you want to use the embedded browser you will have to click on the embedded browser with your mouse keys before you se the Windoweyes (WE) cursor. If anyone can come up with a set file to deal with this we'd really appreciate it. Please understand that this is an early version and the testing will be a long process. In our limited testing we've found the beta to be pretty stable but depending on your computer your mileage may vary.
