Hi John, I use Adobe 1.5 or Soundforge to do this type of mixing. I first move to the part I'd like to copy and add to the song to make it longer. This involves listening very closeley to not make the audio track sound off beat when finished. We use to call it sound splicing in the old days. Anyway, I then move to where I'd like to mix paste this copied material in from the clipboard and do the mix paste operation with the given program. In adobe Audition 1.5 this is in the edit menu. It is also in the same place in soundforge. Both are in the paste special pull down under edit. Hope this helps.
